Fees, Charges and Rebates
The cost of an individual clinical psychology session is $220 (applicable from 1 July 2021). This is payable at the end of your appointment by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. This fee is significantly below the Australian Psychological Society's recommended fee ($267). The cost of an individual psychology session with a Generalist Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar is $180.
OUT OF HOURS APPOINTMENTS/PREMIUM APPOINTMENTS
We know that it is sometimes difficult to get time away from work to attend appointments, that is why we offer out of hours appointments called Premium Appointments. There are only a limited number of these appointments available each week, so please request one early to avoid disappointment. If you request an appointment out of normal business hours, the cost of these premium appointments is $280 (clinical psychologist) or $250 (Generalist psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar). Normal Medicare rebates apply.
Your 'gap' payment will be around $90 per session depending upon the Medicare rebate. The 'gap' payment for a premium appointment will be around $150. These 'gap' payments are usually higher if you are claiming through a private health fund. You will need to check with your health fund to find out the amount, as this varies with the level of cover and the company.
For clients referred under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) through your GP, you can claim a rebate of $129.55 when consulting with a Clinical Psychologist immediately from Medicare or $88.25 when consulting with a Generalist Psychologist or Clinical Psychology Registrar. Electronic claiming allows us to put your rebate claim through for almost instant rebate payment into your nominated bank account.
Similarly, for clients claiming a rebate from their private Health Insurer, we can put your claim through our HICAPS terminal.
CHARGES ASSOCIATED WITH APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING :
Quality of Life Psychology are passionate about offering professional, cost effective and committed therapy and service. Last minute client cancellations significantly impact on our ability to maintain an affordable service and possibly offer the appointment to someone on the wait list. For this reason, we have the following cancellation policy:
All appointments that are cancelled with 24 hours or less notice of an appointment will incur a cancellation fee that is the equivalent of the full session fee, which is payable prior to the next appointment.
Non-attendance of a scheduled appointment without any prior notice will incur a non-attendance fee that is the equivalent of the full session fee, which is payable prior to your next appointment.
We DO NOT routinely BULK BILL.
